Betty (a Black Dexter x Lowline Angus) and Barney (a Belted Galloway) are two much-loved cows who call ‘Our Backyard’ home.
Cows are gentle, social animals, known for their calm temperament and natural curiosity. They have a strong herd instinct, can recognise familiar faces and communicate through body language, tail movements and soft vocal sounds.
At ‘Our Backyard’, Betty and Barney play a special role in our Farmability program, helping members learn about animal care through hands-on, meaningful experiences.
When they’re not working, you’ll usually find them enjoying a nap, a snack or simply relaxing out in the paddock.
